There's always been a rivalry between Pakistan and India whether it is about sports or politics. That's why we always observe aggression whenever it's about these two nations. As we all know king Kohli who's been on the top of ICC ODI ranking since 2017.
Nobody succeeded to move Kohli from top position. He's been outstanding since the start of his career. But if we talk about his recent performance, we got to know that he's been out of form since last few months. That set a bad impact on his performance and and his points as well.
On the other hand, Babar Azam, the Pakistani Captain of all three formats has been outstanding over last couple of years. And also he is the only batsman to hold his position atleast in the top 5 in all three formats.

And respectively, in T20I, he is on the 3rd position with 801 points while Dawid Malan is on the top with 892 points and Aron Finch on the 2nd position with 830 points.
As we know Babar Azam has the chance to show his skills in the series with South Africa. He just needs 21 points to drag Virat from top to No. 2. If Babar succeed to do this, it will be the first person who will be overtake Kohli in the ODIs after 3 years.

And also he just need 270 runs in 10 innings to become the fastest player to achieve 2000 runs.
