SA Beat PAK By 17 Runs In 2nd ODI 2021 And Lead Series 1-1 - Fakhar's 193 in vain - BlogsByHuzaifa


Pakistan Vs South Africa 2nd ODI 2021:


South Africa beat Pakistan in the second ODI of the 3 match series by 17  runs, and level the series by 1-1. In the 2nd ODI, Pakistan again won the toss and and elected to bowl first. In the 2nd ODI, SA players wore pink kits as well just to aware people for breast cancer. While batting first, South Africa smashed a total of 341 runs on the loss of six wickets. South African batsmen gave a good start as their openers set 1st-wicket partnership of 55 runs.

Captain of South African team was the leading run-scorer of that game. He scored fabulous 92 runs off 102 balls with 9 fours and lead his team towards a fine total. Quinton de Kock also scored 80 runs off 86 balls with 10 boundaries and a six as well.

The centurion of previous match Van der Dussen scored 60 runs on just 37 balls. He smashed 6 boundaries and 4 sixes as well with the strike rate of 162.16. 

In return, while chasing 342 runs in 50 overs, Pakistani team just scored 324 on 9 wickets. Openers couldn't provide a better start to team and maybe that's the reason behind their defeat. Imam -ul- Haq just scored 5 runs and lost his wicket in the 2nd over of the game. Fakhar Zaman and captain Babar Azam pushed little bit score towards the target and then captain lost his wicket on just 31 runs. 

Wickets were loosing from the other end but Fakhar Zaman played remarkable innings of 193 runs on 155 balls with 18 fours and 10 glorious sixes as well. He was the one man army previous night as he took Pakistan so close to the total, but then he lost his wicket in the last over of the innings. He was also player of the match in the 2nd ODI.


South African Innings:

In the total of 341-6, captain of SA scored 92 runs, de Kock scored 80, Van der Dussen and David Miller also scored half centuries. 

Haris Rauf took 3 wickets by giving just 54 runs in 10 overs. Shaheen, Hasnain, Faheem Ashraf also took 1 wicket each, but little bit expensive this night. 

Pakistani Innings:

While chasing the target of 342, Pakistan lost their first wicket after the very first start of the innings on just 7 runs.Then Fakhar Zaman who was the star of previous night scored 193 runs and led from the front last night, but in vain. Nobody crossed the barrier of 20 runs except babr azam last night. he scored 31 runs with 4 boundaries.

Nortje took 3 wickets in his 10 overs and Rabada, Ngidi, and Shamsi took one wicket each. Phehlikwayo took 2 wickets as well.
